Based in Ashland OR, Musica Matrix is a non-profit organization dedicated to sharing Renaissance and Medieval Music with youth and our community in Southern Oregon.
For their Web site, Pat wanted rich colors and textures to give it an historic feel and flavor, but with a modern twist, approachable and friendly.
There’s a lot going on on the site. Folks can read about the various ensembles, and sign up to join. Donors can go to the site and see what Musica Matrix is about, concerts, workshops and other events are promoted on a calendar of events. Organization and clear navigation was a priority.
I suggested using an uncial font for the logo to communicate the Renaissance connection. The color comes from the graphics in the content, many of which are brightly colored. The site design itself is muted with a Medieval musical note motif in the background.
