When owner, Christina, decided to simplify her product line to focus on custom printed bar and gameroom items, it made sense to simplify the store management and maintenance at the same time.
Originally built with Zen Cart, I converted the site to WordPress and WooCommerce. Before migrating an ecommerce site to another platform, it is important to make sure the new platform has all the features and functionality you were using on the old site – products options, shipping calculation, customer management, etc.
While Zen Cart is a good cart, WooCommerce has the features Christina depended on in the old site. But, Woo has a simpler administrative interface which makes it easier to add or update items. Also, Woo is easier to keep up-to-date which means lower maintenance costs going forward. For this small business, migrating to WooCommerce was the best solution.
The new site is streamlined, mobile-friendly, and easier to use for both customers and the site owner.
